Counseling is the heart of the Guidance Program. Its primary areas of focus are to promote
students' self-understanding and self-acceptance, facilitate personal decision-making, and
resolve special problems.Counseling may take place individually or in class groups, depending
on the students' needs and the issues to be addressed. Counseling sessions are conducted
routinely for all year levels, with students meeting individually with their Counselor at least once
during the school year. Students are always welcome to make additional appointments.
Students may contact their Counselor to request a meeting.
The Central Catholic High School Guidance Department believes its
role is to encourage, support and challenge students as they grow
and mature throughout their high school years.
The department offers a comprehensive four year developmental school
counseling program that addresses the academic, career and personal/social
development of all students.
Delivery of services is through a structured guidance curriculum,
individual student planning and responsive services to meet students’
immediate needs and concerns.
Integral to its mission is the collaboration of all professionals
in the school community as well as the involvement of parents and
the wider community.
