Sarah Costello ’09, Syracuse University, 2012-2013 Remembrance Scholar
Sarah Costello, a junior at Syracuse University, has been recognized as a 2012-2013 Remembrance Scholar, one of the highest honors a Syracuse University student can receive. Each year, 35 Remembrance Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students on the basis of distinguished academic achievement, citizenship, and service to community.
The Remembrance Scholarships were established to honor and remember the 35 Syracuse students studying abroad who were among the 270 men, women, and children killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988.
“Sarah is thrilled,” notes her mother Barbara. “Her father Paul and I are extremely proud of her. We truly believe that the opportunities and success Sarah has experienced stem largely from the foundation established at Central Catholic - a foundation with academics and service to community at its core.”
Congratulations to Alyssa and Sarah on these wonderful achievements and opportunities!
