Retreats are special opportunities for students to deepen and share their faith. Participants will hear speakers (typically other students) witness their faith. Small group discussions provide an opportunity for sharing thoughts, experiences, and questions. There will be opportunities for different kinds of prayer and some free time for developing new friendships; both are important to the retreats.
Freshmen Retreats are one-day experiences in which the entire class participates. The theme is "Building Community". The retreat focuses on the individual and how we each can contribute to building the community of Central Catholic.
Sophomore Retreats are overnight (one night) experiences scheduled throughout the school year. The theme of the Sophomore Retreat is "You are called by name." It focuses on our calling to be disciples of Christ.
The Encounters are three day (two nights) retreats scheduled throughout the school year. It is modeled after the Marist Youth Encounter Christ retreat established by the Marist Brothers. This retreat is an opportunity for students to reflect on their relationship with self, others and God
Seniors are invited to join students from other Marist Schools to participate in Marist Youth Encounter Christ retreats (if they have not attended one at CCHS) and Adventure Based Outdoor Retreats in Esopus, NY.
