CCHS Cheerleaders Are National Champions

CCHS Cheerleaders Are National Champions

The CCHS Varsity Cheerleading Team recently earned the title of Division Champions, as well as Grand Champions for all- school divisions during the “Reach the Beach” national competition in Daytona, Florida.

The team earned their ticket to Nationals by qualifying during the Fall Cheerleading Season at the State Cheerleading Competition where they placed 4th in Division 2, finishing with a score of 187.2 (Any team who receives a score of 176 or higher receives a bid to Nationals).

For a National competition, they chose to compete in “Reach the Beach” and the CCHS Cheer team hit a nearly flawless routine and scored a 95.6 out of a possible 100 points.

“It was an absolutely amazing year for cheerleading at Central Catholic High School,” said Ashley Hashem, Head Coach for Varsity Cheerleading at CCHS. “It was a long road getting to Nationals, but the work was definitely worth it. This team put the work in at practice every day and never gave up, and I am so proud of each and every one of them.”

Our student-athletes bring home State, Sectional, and Conference Championships on a regular basis while representing the school community with pride.

Central Catholic offers twenty-seven (27) Varsity sports in competitions governed by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Merrimack Valley Conference (MVC) as well as two (2) seasons of Cheerleading under the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators' Association (MSSAA).

More than half of our student body, approximately 800 students, compete on at least one of these teams, an experience that fosters teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence, lessons that carry over into all aspects of life.
