Congratulations to Alana McNeil '04 on her upcoming induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame for Saint Anselm College.
Alana will be inducted on February 15, 2020, as part of the six-member 2020 Hall of Fame class. She is the first inductee from the women's volleyball program.
In 2012, Alana was inducted into the Central Catholic High School’s Hall of Fame for her contributions in basketball, volleyball, and track and field.
Alana is a middle school math teacher in Lowell and an assistant coach in both the girls and boys volleyball programs at Central Catholic.

Alana McNeil, the first-ever Athletics Hall of Fame inductee from the Hawks women’s volleyball program, was a two-time captain who departed the Hilltop as the all-time team leader with 1,105 kills. Her attacking percentage of .312 was the team record upon her graduation in 2008 and she was also a strong net-front presence, throwing up 270 career blocks (0.72/set).
She averaged just shy of three kills per set (2.94) in her career and departed as one of only six student-athletes with over 100 solo blocks to her credit. Her .354 attacking percentage in 2007 ranked second all-time in single-season team history when she graduated. Never finishing with fewer than 257 kills in a season, McNeil hammered home a career-high 27 kills in a match against Stonehill as a senior.

Alana was a four year varsity player on the volleyball and basketball teams. She also was a three year varsity performer on the track and field team at Central Catholic. As a freshman Alana was recognized as an MVC All Star in volleyball, and sophomore year was named an Eagle Tribune All Star, and MVC All Conference player. That winter she was also named an MVC All Star for basketball. As a junior co-captain and MVP of the MVC Small School Championship Volleyball Team, Alana again was recognized as an MVC All Conference Player and Eagle Tribune All Star. For two consecutive winters, Alana was recognized as an MVC All Conference Player and Coach’s Award for the basketball team. As a captain and discus and shot put thrower on the track and field team, Alana achieved all star status for the MVC and after breaking the school record in shot put was named “Thrower of the Year Award” for CCHS her senior season. Alana placed 2nd at the Eastern MA Class B meet in the shot put. Alana went on to St. Anselm College where she was a four year starting middle hitter and two year captain. he maintains the All Time Career Kill record at St. A’s with 1,105 kills. In 2010, Alana was named to the Eagle Tribune’s All-Decade Volleyball Team. Alana currently works as a teacher in the Lawrence Public Schools. She is also the assistant varsity coach for both the boys and girls volleyball teams at Central Catholic.
