Congratulations to Bret Edwards '18, who led the University of New Hampshire Wildcats to victory with three touchdown passes.

Completed 17 of 25 attempts for a total of 233 yards and 3 touchdowns one of which went for 64 yards; also rushed for 24 yards on three attempts, Edwards earned a 185.89 passer rating against Stony Brook

Before UNH
Was the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 MVP while throwing for a career total of 4,736 yards and 54 touchdown passes... three-year starter who earned Merrimack Valley All-Conference honors each of those seasons... as a senior, was selected to both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team... also a Merrimack Valley All-Star in basketball and outdoor track and field.

Bret was presented with The Michael Garvey Memorial Award as the Outstanding Male Student-Athlete at Central Catholic's 80th Commencement Exercises.

He was recognized as an All-Decade Athlete by The Eagle-Tribune in the summer of 2020.

Rare three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Finished career with 4,706 passing yards (fourth in area history) and 54 TDs passing (No. 2 all-time). As sophomore, led Raiders to Division 1 title game (1,917 yards, 21 TDs passing). As senior, threw for 1,326 yards and 18 TDs despite playing with fractured non-throwing elbow. Star high jumper in track. Now QB for UNH.

Raider Athletics

Raider Athletics represents a proud tradition of excellence that enriches the Central Catholic experience for both participants and spectators.

Our student-athletes bring home State, Sectional, and Conference Championships on a regular basis while representing the school community with pride.

Central Catholic offers twenty-seven (27) Varsity sports in competitions governed by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Merrimack Valley Conference (MVC) as well as two (2) seasons of Cheerleading under the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators' Association (MSSAA).

More than half of our student body, approximately 800 students, compete on at least one of these teams, an experience that fosters teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence, lessons that carry over into all aspects of life.
