COVID 19 Information
It is with great excitement that we are once again hosting Summer at Central summer camp programs. As we plan for the Summer , we recognize there are many questions surrounding how camps and clinics alike will operate with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Restrictions from the Commonwealth of MA and the City of Lawrence are constantly evolving and we receive new information and recommendations on how to safely operate our businesses, while keeping our campers and staff safe. We will follow all current public health guidelines and are currently taking the following steps to keep everyone safe and healthy:
Campers and staff will be required to wear a mask at all times. We will take periodic "mask breaks" where campers may remove their masks in spaces where campers may remove their masks in spaces where social distancing allows. Everyone must arrive wearing their own mask and are encouraged to bring at least one backup mask. We will have disposable masks available if needed. All masks/face coverings must meet the following standards:
- GAITORS, SCARVES and BANDANAS are NOT ALLOWED
- Completely covers the NOSE and MOUTH
- Fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Must be secured with ear ties/loop
- Disposable, medical grade masks are acceptable.
- Fabric masks should include multiple layers of fabric, preferably cotton. Single layer fabrics are not efficient.
- No vents/valves
- Allows for breathing without restriction
The Summer at Central camps will provide any equipment needed for each camp. All equipment will be disinfected periodically throughout the day as well as thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each day.
If a camper brings their own equipment (basketball, softball glove, bat, etc.), it must be CLEARLY labeled with the camper's name.
Hand Washing & Sanitizing:
There will be an emphasis on proper hygiene throughout each camp session. We will encourage hand washing throughout the camp day and will have hand sanitizer readily available at all locations. As part of the registration process, the parent/guardian of each camper must grant permission for the camper to use CCHS-supplied hand sanitizer. If the camper or parent/guardian wish to use their own sanitizer, they must bring it with them daily and notify the camp director of their use.
Daily COVID Symptom Attestation:
Prior to each camp day, all staff and campers will attest that they are healthy and do not show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If any symptoms are present, staff and campers will not attend camp.
All areas of the facility will be cleaned using appropriate EPA approved material. These areas will be cleaned multiple times throughout the day.
All of the above is subject to change based upon the current national, state, and local guidelines that are offered to us at the time of camp opening. We will update the Summer at Central page on the CCHS website as well as contact registered campers as we receive more information. Further details regarding the specifics of each camp's structure will be provided closer to the starting dates of each camp.
