Summary
As the Campus Safety Liaison for Central Catholic High School (“CCHS”), you will be responsible for providing a welcoming and safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors. You will serve as the first point of contact to all visitors to the campus, enforce CCHS policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate.
The Campus Safety Liaison position working hours are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional working hours may be available based on school events and functions. The day shift Campus Safety Liaison position is a year-round full time role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet, screen, and validate all students, staff and visitors to the CCHS campus.
- Familiarize and understand the CCHS School Emergency Operations Plan (“SEOP”) document.
- Understand and apply public safety operation procedures.
- Consistent and regular communications with the Director of Campus Safety.
- Coordinate, plan, and deliver school specific safety training to students, faculty, and staff, as directed by the Director of Campus Safety.
- Knowledgeable of and assist with communicating and enforcing CCHS policies and procedures as listed in the student/parent and employee handbooks.
- Open and prepare the CCHS campus for morning opening, as directed by the Director of Campus Safety.
- Patrol campus property including parking areas and assist with morning traffic patterns as needed.
- Manage adverse or stressful situations for an extended period of time in a high volume public safety work environment while maintaining an efficient and calm demeanor.
- Monitor the comprehensive CCHS campus camera system throughout the working shift.
- Respond to any safety related incidents observed while monitoring the campus camera system. Report such incidents to school administration and Director of Campus Safety.
- Identify and respond to security problems with the CCHS campus camera system and alarm systems and report such for service and repair in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and communicate via handheld radio.
- Act as a liaison with and work collaboratively and cooperatively with parking lot security personnel.
- Manage and enter data into the Raptor visitor management system for non-CCHS students, faculty, and staff.
- Exercise judgment and initiative in managing and organizing the main entrance foyer.
- Manage incoming package and delivery items.
- Available for emergency situations after hours and on weekends.
- Maintain a presentable and professional working space at all times.
- Adhere to the faculty and staff handbook dress code expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Understand and is supportive of the Marist philosophy as well as CCHS policies & procedures.
- Possess effective written and oral communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of audiences, including administrators, faculty, staff, vendors, prospective and current students and families.
- School safety training is required. Previous training is preferred or will be provided.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and databases.
- Strong interpersonal skills in diplomacy, tact and/or discretion; maintain appropriate boundaries with students and be able to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve problems quickly and independently.
- Ability to handle confidential material discreetly.
- Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic and passion in a team environment.
- Is a self-starter and possesses a willingness to assist others.
- Enjoys working with culturally diverse populations.
- Proven to be organized and detail-oriented within a fast-paced work environment.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
- Able to walk to conduct inspections; bend at the waist and sit or stand for extended periods of time; be able to lift, bend, push, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Compensation: Salary and Benefits
Central Catholic High School is committed to offering salaries and benefits that are highly competitive relative to similar Catholic secondary schools. Compensation will be commensurate with level of education and experience.
