First Raider to Reach the Majors

July 25, 2025

Congratulations to Cam Devanney '15! On July 8, he was promoted to the Kansas City Royals and is the first CCHS alumnus to be called up to a Major Leage Baseball team!

After a successful season for the Royal's Triple-A team the Omaha Storm Chasers, he was added to the Major League roster for the July 8 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

A shortstop for the Storm Chasers, Cam was hitting .272 with 18 homers and 55 RBI - third in homers and tied for fourth in RBI in the International League.

The Pirates must have liked what they saw - they traded for Cam a week later on July 16!
