Fueling for Performance with the Imprescia Center

Earlier this month, the Imprescia Center for Female Sports Leadership hosted an interactive Fueling for Performance Nutrition Workshop with Amanda Feldman, MS, RD from Fuel Forward. Over 60 female student-athletes participated.

About Amanda Feldman, MS, RD

Amanda Feldman is a credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology and her master's degree in nutrition from Boston University and completed her clinical training in the UMass Memorial Health System. Her training includes sports nutrition internships at Florida State University and Boston College. She has coached high school cross country and softball and taught nutrition at the high school level.

Through the sports nutrition private practice Fuel Forward LLC, owned by Mary Ellen Kelly, Amanda provides 1:1 nutrition counseling and delivers nutrition education through speaking engagements at high schools and colleges across New England, including Wesleyan University Athletics, Suffolk University Women's Hockey and Dana Hall School.

In addition to her work with Fuel Forward, she is a Sports Dietitians at Boston University, working closely with student-athletes across all the varsity teams at BU. Amanda is passionate about educating adolescents and athletes of all levels on how to fuel their bodies to feel their best, reach their goals, and maximize performance.

Beyond her contributions at Fuel Forward and BU, Amanda is entering her third season as the team sports dietitian for the Boston Fleet - Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and is the dietitian for USA Hockey at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) U18 Women's World Championship in Canada this January.

The "SHE WILL" Fund

This Fund, through a series of workshops, seminars and networking events, will help give our female student-athletes the qualities and skills needed to succeed in sport and life as they develop into strong, female leaders.

It is our hope that this fund can grow and provide our female student-athletes and teams the resources and support both financially and physically to celebrate their success and excellence.
