Athletic Hall of Fame

D’Andre Drummond-Mayrie possessed a rare combination of athletic and personal qualities when he wore the Central Catholic “red and blue”. D’Andre consistently demonstrated exceptional athletic talents, competitive drive, natural leadership, work ethic, versatility, character and integrity, all of which distinguished him in Raider sports history. For the Raiders, D’Andre excelled in each of his 4 years in 3 varsity sports, Football, Indoor Track & Field and Outdoor Track & Field.

On the gridiron, D’Andre was a 3-year starter on both offense and defense, named a senior year Captain. His leadership and achievements as a starter on both sides of the ball, running back and safety, earned him a multitude of Eastern MA regional recognitions: 2013 Boston Globe and Boston Herald All Scholastic teams, Mass. Coaches Association Super 26 All-State team, 2-time MVC All-Conference, Raiders’ Team Defensive Player of the Year and named to the prestigious Shriners All-Star Game. In an unforgettable performance, D’Andre scored three touchdowns in the MA State Superbowl championship, helping to crown the Raiders as the 2013 State Champion.

As a senior and Captain of Indoor Track & Field and Peter O’Sullivan Coaches Award recipient, D’Andre earned MVC All-Conference honors. His agility and power in the Shot-Put captured 4th place in the Division 2 MA State Meet. In Outdoor Track & Field as a junior, D’Andre demonstrated athletic versatility and endurance with a 3rd place finish in the Massachusetts State Decathlon. As Outdoor Track Captain and MVC All-Conference in 2014, D’Andre was part of the CCHS record-setting Shuttle Hurdle team, also a Haverhill Invitational Champion in the Discus, placed 2nd at the MA State level in Discus, 3rd at the MA State level in the 110 High Hurdles, 4th at the MA state level in the 4x100 Relay and 3rd in the discus at the MA All-State Meet of Champions. D’Andre’s contributions and leadership helped the Raiders capture the MVC Outdoor Track Championship and the MIAA Division 2 State Outdoor Track Championship.

At the Central Catholic commencement in 2014, D’Andre was the recipient of the Michael Garvey Award as the outstanding male student-athlete. Recipient of several Division 1 football scholarships, D’Andre chose the University of New Hampshire, serving as a Captain in his senior year. After completing his degree, D’Andre is employed as a Senior Manager for Internal Recruiting for ALKU.

When compiling a list of the most highly accomplished Raider female student-athletes the name Amanda Fay is certainly among an elite handful. Amanda’s CCHS athletic career includes unparalleled achievements in soccer, as well as immediate notoriety when she brought her athleticism to indoor and outdoor track.

Amanda’s opponents on the soccer pitch dreaded seeing her as goalkeeper. Her 4-year CCHS varsity soccer career totals are astounding: 60 games played, 29 goals against for a 0.48 goals-against average with 27 shutouts. Her 4-year Raider soccer teams compiled a record of 68 wins, 7 losses, 3 ties. On average when Amanda was in goal the Raiders needed 1 goal to claim victory, and the opposing MVC teams knew it! Her soccer accolades are numerous: 3-time MVC Goalkeeper of the Year and 1st team MVC All-Conference, only 1 of 2 high school goalkeepers to be selected to play in the 2016 High School All-America Game. Amanda’s play in goal was unassailably stout, leading the undefeated Raiders to the 2016 Division 1 MA State Championship. Beyond being named Boston Globe and Boston Herald Soccer All-Scholastic, Amanda garnered honors as a 3-time Eagle Tribune All-Star, Eastern Massachusetts Girls Soccer Coaches Association 1st team in both 2015 and 2016. Her versatility was on display as Amanda also played one year on the Girls Varsity Basketball team.

Amanda’s athleticism contributed to both the Indoor Track and Outdoor Track teams in senior year. On the Raider girls Indoor Track team, Amanda became an individual MA State Champion in the Shot Put with a throw of 37-10.75 and an MVC All-Star in three different events (shot put, 55 meter, 4x200 relay), earning Eagle Tribune All-Star honors. Amanda earned MVC All-Conference in Raider girls Outdoor Track in the javelin, and her contributions helped the team win the MA Team State Championship. She would later place 8th in the All-States in javelin with a throw of 113.3 feet. Amanda holds the CCHS school record for the Shot Put Relay set in 2017 and is 2nd all-time for CCHS shot put throwers and 12th all-time in the Eagle Tribune area shot put standings at 39’2”.

Post her CCHS graduation, Amanda earned a women’s soccer scholarship to Boston University. Though she missed her senior season at BU due to injury, in 35 games Amanda had 116 saves, gave up 29 goals for a 0.85 goals against average with 14 shutouts.

Amanda lives in Atkinson, NH and works as a Global Travel Advisor for a luxury travel company in Boston’s North End.

Lanie Jowett is among an elite cadre of Raider female student-athletes that have both achieved and set a high bar for legions of female athletes to follow when it comes to competing for championships and setting CCHS school records.

As a sophomore on the Raider girls’ soccer team, Lanie was a tough and fleet defender on the first Raider team to win the Division 1 Massachusetts State Soccer Championship in 2010. In junior year, Lanie was named an MVC All-Star and to the 2nd team Eastern MA All-Star Soccer team. As a senior, she earned MVC All-Conference honors and was named to the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star, First Team.

Few Raider female student-athletes can match Lanie Jowett for her track and field exploits. In her sophomore Indoor Track season, Lanie set a CCHS record in the 1000 M and the 1000 yd. while being named an MVC All-Star. As a junior and MVC All-Conference in Indoor Track, Lanie set a CCHS record in the sprint medley relay and in the 1-mile. Lanie capped off her indoor season as a member of the 4X800 Raider relay team, the distance medley relay team, both of which still hold the CCHS school record. In this same indoor season Lanie ran to a MA State Championship in the 1-mile and once again named as MVC All-Conference in junior year and again in senior year.

In Outdoor Track & Field, Lanie set a CCHS freshman record in the mile, and as a sophomore, she was a member of the Raider team that still holds the CCHS school record in the distance medley relay. As a junior, Lanie was a key member of the 4X800 relay team that holds the current CCHS school record. Lanie still holds the current CCHS record in the 2-mile. Her Raider Outdoor Track team went on to win the Mass. Division I Outdoor Team Championship. Senior year saw Lanie become the MA State Champion in the 2-mile, and if not enough, Lanie was a key member of the Raider team who won the 4X800 MA State Championship.

Topping of many accolades, MVC All-Star and MVC All-Conference, Eagle Tribune All-Star and captain of all three sports, Lanie was honored as the recipient of the CCHS Mary I. Kilcoyne Award as the Outstanding Female Athlete in the Class of 2012 at the commencement. A graduate and collegiate track athlete at the University of Rhode Island, Lanie returned to Central Catholic where she teaches science and coaches JV Soccer and is Assistant Coach in Indoor and Outdoor Track. Lanie joins her brother, Shain, as a 2025 inductee. She makes her home in Kingston, NH.

If one looks through the annals of Central Catholic’s proud athletic history and its array of outstanding student-athletes, only 5 or 6 have also been presented with the Brother Florentius, FMS Memorial Award, named for Central’s founding Brother, honoring the one student who best exemplifies the ideal qualities of a CCHS student. Among this exceptional handful is Michael Leal, Class of 1994.

Mike Leal was a 4-year, three-sport student athlete, one of an increasingly rare breed in this era of year-round specialization. Mike loved football for its team-first ethic, becoming a mainstay as a free safety, a sure tackler who also had elite ball skills on the Raider varsity football team. His 7 defensive interceptions impactfully led the 1993 Raiders to a 9-1 record and a share of the MVC Football Championship. His stellar defensive play earned him 1st team MVC All-Conference honors and an invitation to the Carroll Classic All-Star Game.

Mike immersed himself in both Indoor and Outdoor Track for the same team-first reason he excelled in football. Mike captained both the Raider Indoor and Outdoor track teams in senior year. Indoor in 1994, Mike was a key member of the Raider 50 yd. shuttle hurdle team that set a CCHS school record. He also finished 2nd in the 50 yd. hurdles in the Northern Area Meet and took 2nd in the 60 yd. hurdles in the Class A MA State Meet. In Outdoor Track in 1994, Mike sped to record-setting performances in the 110 high hurdles where he took 1st place at the Haverhill Invitational Meet. The Shuttle Hurdle Team led by Mike took 1st place and set a CCHS record at the MA Class B Meet. He ran to 2nd place in the high hurdles at the MA All-State Meet, then capped of the spring 1994 season as the lead runner on the Division I Mass. State Champion 4x100m relay team. Mike’s 1994 Outdoor Track feats spearheaded the Raiders to Central Catholic’s first Outdoor Track & Field MA State Championship and earned him MVC All-Conference honors.

At the 1994 CCHS commencement, Mike received the Brother Florentius, FMS Memorial Award in recognition of the respect of his classmates and the entire CCHS faculty. Mike went on to graduate from Merrimack College in 1998 where he also played with the same intense focus on Merrimack’s fledgling football team.

Mike presently is a mathematics teacher at Central Catholic and serves as CCHS Assistant Coach in Football and Girls Indoor Track as well as Head Coach of Boys Indoor & Outdoor Track.

Mike is married to Maureen (Wilson ’94PMA) and together they have two children, Joseph, CCHS Class of 2026 and Mackenzie, Class of 2029. They make their home in Pelham, NH.

Allen “Buster” Mottram was the face of Central Catholic Raider baseball through his 4 years as a varsity starter. Allen was one of the most composed and mature baseball players in the history of the Raider program and became the catalyst that ignited the great success of the Raiders which has continued for the last 30 years. Buster possessed elite skills on the mound, in the field and especially as a hitter. As a competitor, simply put he was clutch in every way!

As a pitcher over his 4-year Raider career, Allen compiled an 11-6 record, pitched 114 innings with 115 strikeouts, a 2.7 ERA and was only tapped for 45 earned runs. As a sophomore, Allen was honored as an MVC All-Star. Buster, while a Captain in senior year, compiled incomparable statistics on the mound: a 4-1 record, pitched 31.6 innings, struck out 33 batters, and gave up only 30 hits and averaged 2.4 earned runs. In his senior year at the plate, Allen batted an eye-popping .578 with 37 hits and 30 RBIs in 64 at-bats. Allen’s 4-year career hitting stats are equally impressive: 173 AB, 48 Runs, 81 Hits, 64 RBIs, 26 Extra-Base Hits and a .486 batting average. He was named MVC All-Conference 3 times as well as a Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Star.

Allen’s mound work, hitting and fielding were a key to the Raiders winning the MVC Baseball Championships in 1996 and 1999 and a Division 1 MIAA North Finalist. As a player, he had no ego, the consummate team player and one that other players tried to model themselves after. Based on his Raider career, Allen was awarded a full athletic scholarship to the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where he was a member of two World Series teams in 2001-02 and named a Division II All-American. At U. Mass. Lowell, Buster was named All-Northeast Conference 4 times and Northeast Conference Player of the Year in 2003. He continues to hold 7 hitting records at U. Mass. Lowell.

Allen was drafted in the 24th round of the MLB draft in 2003 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He continued his baseball career playing for 5 seasons professionally in the Frontier League. Baseball remains in his blood even today. Allen is currently in his 3rd season as the successful head varsity baseball coach for Pentucket High School in West Newbury, MA. Allen makes his home in Amesbury along with his wife, Breanna and their sons, Emmitt and Elliott. He works as the Pentucket High School’s Student Safety Supervisor.

Alicia (Negrotti ’06) Ernst was one of the most electric female Raider swimmers ever! As a 4-year Raider swimmer, she earned team MVP honors each of her 4 years. Alicia set an elite pace for the Raider swim program with astounding, repeated sterling performances and with her encouraging mentorship of younger or less-skilled team members.

Named MVC All-Conference 1st team in each of her CCHS years, Alicia was honored by both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald as an All-Scholastic Swimmer in both junior and senior year. Recognition continued her way in 2006, Alicia was named Eastern Massachusetts Division II “Swimmer of the Year.” Her times in the pool qualified her for the State Championship meet every year, consistently placing herself among the top Massachusetts high school swimmers in multiple and diverse events. As a junior, Alicia’s victories in the individual 200-yard free and 100-yard butterfly, as well as anchoring both relay events, led Central Catholic to the Division II Massachusetts State Championship.

Throughout her dominant CCHS swimming career, Alicia continuously broke and re-broke every CCHS school record in her events. In senior year, Alicia set the MVC Conference record in the 100-yard breaststroke. With all these accomplishments, Alicia has cemented her legacy as one of the fastest and winningest female swimmers in CCHS history.

After graduating CCHS, Alicia swam for Division I Northeastern University, competing on scholarship for 4 years, where she won the Doc Fisher Award for the swimmer who contributed the most to the NU program. Alicia earned both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and an MBA at Northeastern. Today Alicia is a Senior FP&A Manager in the SaaS industry. She makes her home in New Hampshire with her husband, Kyle, and is the proud mother of two children, Kiara (4) and Emmitt (2).

Certain names in MVC boys’ athletics in the decade of the 2000’s carry an aura of leadership, hard work and competitiveness and, at times, creating fear when lining up across from them. One of these names clearly belongs to Central Catholic’s Andrew Regan.

When any young man in the MVC lined up on the offensive or defensive line against Andrew Regan, it was time to buckle the chin strap and secure those pads. Opposing teams would change their offensive approach to avoid Andrew’s dominance on the defensive line. A 3-time MVC 1st team All-Conference and varsity Captain in senior year, Andrew was a rock and a force in the middle of the line, he was immovable, and when he burst through the line or tackled his opponent the play was blown up. His technique and power left a mark on opponents earning him MVC Lineman of the Year honors in 2006, MVC Defensive MVP in senior year and a 2-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald Football All-Scholastic. As a senior, Andrew, “Reegs,” was honored to be chosen a member of the prestigious Super 26 All-State Team Shriner’s All-Star Game.

As a Raider wrestler, Andrew, in the heavyweight class, was a 2-time MVC All Conference wrestler and a 3-time Sectional Place Winner. As a junior, Andrew wrestled with power to become the All-State Champion as a heavyweight and was also a 2-time Division II MA State Runner-up. At the prestigious Lowell Holiday Tournament, Andrew wrestled earned the Championship in his weight class.

Andrew continued his outstanding football career at Bryant University where his dynamic play earned him NEC All-Conference honors. Andrew joins his wife, Lauren (Berg ’09) Regan, as a 2025 inductee to the Central Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame, the first husband and wife members. They make their home in Salisbury, MA.
