Join us for an inspiring and informative evening presented by Susie Castillo and the Imprescia Center for Female Sports Leadership.

Doors will open at 5:30 PM and access to the event is complimentary. (RSVP is required.)

This special event is being presented for all female student-athletes as well as their supporters and guests.

Power, Presence, and Purpose: Presented by Susie Castillo

Our female student-athletes will learn about various ways to find their power as Susie Castillo shares her story as an inspiring example to the students about how she found power, drawing on themes from her book, Confidence Is Queen: The Four Keys To Ultimate Beauty Through Positive Thinking.

Susie, who grew up in Lawrence and Methuen, was named Miss USA and pursued a successful career in the entertainment industry as a correspondent, television host, actress, MTV vj, and author. (See more below.)

The She Will Fund

The She Will Fund supports programming, including workshops, seminars and networking events, to assist our female student-athletes in developing qualities and skills needed to succeed in sport and life as they grow into strong, capable female leaders.

About Susie Castillo

Susie was born and raised in MA and held both the titles of Miss MA Teen USA and Miss MA USA before going on to win the Miss USA competition and placing in the top 15 at Miss Universe in Panama City, Panama.

In 2003, People En Español featured Susie on their '25 Most Beautiful’ list after she became the third Latina to capture the title of Miss USA. With her dynamic personality and as a proud Latin-American woman who is fluent in Spanish, Susie quickly began landing hosting gigs and wrote her first book, Confidence Is Queen: The Four Keys To Ultimate Beauty Through Positive Thinking.

She’s been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years: from being a VJ on MTV’s TRL, to her correspondent work on E! News, EXTRA, Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider, co-hosting LIVE With Regis & Kelly, the 2005 Miss Teen USA Pageant, and numerous network television shows, Susie has interviewed some of the biggest celebrities in the world. Most recently, Susie hosted the show, Cultural Capital, on Facebook Watch and NASDAQ.com.

Kelly Dostal, member of the U.S. National Field Hockey Team from 2005-2010, 3X consecutive NCAA National Champion in Field Hockey, current Senior Director at Dell Technologies, and national public speaker:

  • Offered advice,
  • Responded to questions, and
  • Enlightened our community about the value of sport for female student-athletes.

This special event was presented for all female student-athletes as well as their supporters and guests.

Thank you to the over 100 supporters who joined us on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, for the celebratory Kick-Off & Networking Barbecue of the Imprescia Center for Female Sports Leadership at CCHS.

Participants included students, alumni spanning 60 years, coaches, parents, staff, and benefactors.

Before the barbecue, attendees had the chance to watch the Raider Softball Team (ranked #2 headed into the State Tournament) battle Tewksbury Memorial High School on Raider Softball Field.

Following the barbecue, attendees watched the Raider Girls Lacrosse Team (ranked #1 in the state) defeat Portsmouth High School, the #1 team in New Hampshire, on Raider Field.
