Over the last three-months – in addition to rigorous academic schedules and athletic commitments - a group of entrepreneurial Central Catholic students volunteered to learn the ups and downs of starting, managing, and ultimately liquidating an actual business venture.
Freshman Grandparents Day
Thank you to our Grandparents for your presence and for your legacy of love, wisdom, and sacrifice.
We invite you to consider making a financial gift to Central Catholic in honor of your grandchild or grandchildren so that CCHS can continue to pass on its blessings to all grandkids - yours, ours, and the generations to come.
Your grandchild/grandchildren will receive a special message letting them know of your thoughtful gift made in their honor. The nature and size of the gift will not be included in the message.
On October 10, 2018, the CCHS Family welcomed over 600 people to our seventh annual Freshman Grandparents Day!
All attendees - both grandparents and friends - enjoyed lunch and a performance by Central Catholic sophomore Sebastian Benedetto '21 as he played the bag pipes.
Following the program in the Memorial Gymnasium, students led their grandparents on tours throughout the school.
Thank you to:
- Our Master of Ceremonies, Mr. David DeFillippo ’66, Director of Communications;
- Our President, Christopher Sullivan ’81, for his welcoming remarks;
- Student volunteers from the Student Alumni Association for their hospitality and service;
- Our Director of Campus Ministry, Mrs. Earline Tweedie, and student volunteers for leading those present in prayer;
- The Party Connection, for catering another delicious meal;
- Sebastian Benedetto '21, for his performance on bagpipes;
- The CCHS Parents Guild, whose volunteers provided hospitality, helping to set up, organize, and serve!
And perhaps, most importantly of all, thank you to our Grandparents for your presence and for your legacy of love, wisdom, and sacrifice.
Each year, the Central Catholic Community invites the grandparents of freshmen to attend a very special afternoon with their grandchildren.
This year's event was held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 12:30 PM.
Grandparents are invited to enjoy lunch at the school and share in the spirit and talents of our students. Tours are available after the luncheon for those interested in seeing their grandchildren's school.
We want to thank you for your legacy of love, wisdom, and sacrifice, and for entrusting your grandchild to us day in and day out.

Over April vacation, 19 Raiders (14 students and five adults) traveled to Newburg, NY as part of Project Rebuild. Working with Habitat for Humanity, they helped construct housing for those most in need. Thank you to coordinator Bro. Jim Halliday, the adult chaperones, and the students for ling out the Marist ideal of service to those in need.
