“The school spirit this year will be better than ever,” according to our (this year’s) Moses. “There will be some changes to Moses this year. We are expecting the Red Sea to be bigger than ever and for everyone to be cheering. As Moses, it is our job to make sure everyone is as loud as possible.”

Most, if not all of you, must know our Central Catholic Campus Minister and Marist Brother, Brother Rene Roy. Yet, what you may not know is that Brother Rene was a student here at Central from 1955-1959, and he was part of the original student newspaper.

The Catastrophe of Light Pollution
According to the International Dark Sky Association, “Light pollution is a side effect of industrial civilization. Its sources include building exterior and interior lighting, advertising, commercial properties, offices, factories, streetlights, and illuminated sporting venues.” Due to this pollution natural life cycles are inhibited and space observation is hindered.

Waking up and feeling tired is overlooked by both parents and teens since it’s a daily occurrence. In fact, when asked to rate their level of tiredness (1 as the lowest, 10 as the greatest) on a daily basis, a staggering 82% of CCHS students answer with a five or above.
