Archbishop Celebrates 90 Years of Central Catholic

On May 28, the Most Rev. Richard G. Henning, Archbishop of Boston, visited CCHS to celebrate 90 Years of CCHS.

His visit was the culmination of a year-long celebration of 90 years of Marist, Catholic, college preparatory education at Central Catholic.

The Central Catholic High School community was joyfully honored to welcome The Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, Archbishop of Boston, for a special 90th Anniversary Celebration Mass and a tour of the campus with students. The Mass was concelebrated with Fr. John Delaney '79, Pastor of Sacred Hearts Parish in Bradford.

“It was a privilege to welcome Archbishop Henning to Central Catholic during our 90th Anniversary year. His visit means a great deal to our school community and highlights the importance of Catholic education and the Marist charism that guides our school each day,” said Mrs. Jodi Linnehan Kriner, CCHS President.

Following Mass, Archbishop Henning took a tour of the Central Catholic campus with students Denzel Dume '27 and Estefania Marrochi Polanco '27, members of the Campus Ministry Team who also serve as Student Ambassadors.

The Archbishop also attended a reception with faculty, staff and Board members in Central Catholic's Catalano Memorial Library.

“It was such a joy for the Central Catholic Family to welcome Archbishop Henning to join us here 'in the midst of Lawrence City,'" states Mr. Christopher Sullivan '81, Director of Marist Mission for CCHS.

"The Archbishop is our spiritual leader and we pray for him at every school Mass throughout the year. It is so great that our students get to celebrate with him in person as we recognize Central's 90th Anniversary. Thank you, Archbishop Henning!"
