Blind Date with a Book

Blind Date with a Book

Are you looking to expand your reading horizons?

Are you stuck in a reading rut?

During the month of February, the Catalano Memorial Library will try to find your perfect (book) match!

Student holding book bag

Students and staff can simply fill out a Google form and let us know a few genres you may be interested in reading.

We'll shop the shelves for you, find you some great reads, and fill your bags with two library books and Valentine's themed treats and goodies.

So far this month we've already filled 40 bags for our Blind Date with a Book Bag promotion.

Thank you to the Catalano Memorial Library Staff for making this happen for the second year!

About the Catalano Memorial Library

Dedicated to the Memory of G. Thomas Catalano '50 and Marie Catalano

The Catalano Memorial Library is a hub of student life. Students gather there before school, after school, and during study breaks. Teachers bring their classes during the school day to make use of the resources and programs offered by the Library & Information Services Team. The library offers an abundance of online resources and tools, in addition to hosting events and programs.

The current site of the library opened in 1970 with 20,000 volumes on the third floor of the then newly-constructed Hampshire Street Building.

When the South Wing was completed in the 2004, the library was significantly expanded into the footprint of former science labs that now live on the Science Hall of the South Wing.

The library has continued to evolve and grow to meet the evolving needs of students and faculty.

In May of 2023, the library was officially renamed the G. Thomas '50 & Marie Catalano Memorial Library to honor the incredible philanthropic support provided by the Catalanos, who were instrumental in responding to the critical needs of Central Catholic multiple times over the years.
