On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Central Catholic Family welcomed 650 people to our Freshman Grandparents Day!

Following the program in the Memorial Gymnasium, students led their grandparents on tours throughout the school and visited the Raider Campus Store.

  • Our Master of Ceremonies, Mr. David DeFillippo '66;
  • Our Principal, Mr. Andrew Murray, for his welcoming remarks;
  • Our student musicians, The StudeBops, Austin Demelo ’25, Alejandro Carter ’25, John “Quinn” Green ’26, Jacoby Cascio ’26, Bryce Seville ’26 & Liam Phillips ’26 for sharing their musical talents;
  • Our student volunteers from the Student Alumni Association for their hospitality and service;
  • Mr. David Erwin, our Chief Advancement Officer, for leading those present in prayer;
  • Sevmar Mediterranean Bistro and Ms. Jocelyn Maroun '04 for catering a delicious meal;
  • Tripoli Bakery, Mr. Rosario Zappala '66, Mr. Matt Zappala '89, and Mr. Andrew Zappala '96 for providing cookies for dessert;
  • Mann Orchards, Mr. Matthew Fitzgerald ’02 for providing 80 pumpkins and mums;
  • Rogers Spring Hill Garden Center for providing gourds used for centerpieces and decorations around the Memorial Gym.
  • Our Director of Buildings & Grounds, Mr. Tim Whyte, and our maintenance staff, for taking care of the logistics that made the day possible;
  • Mr. Kevin Shute, our Network & Systems Manager, and Mr. Hamid Faiz, our Manager of IT Services, for their technology expertise and support;
  • The CCHS Parents Guild, whose volunteers provided hospitality, helping to set up, organize, and serve!

And perhaps, most importantly of all, thank you to our Grandparents for your presence in our lives and for your legacy of love, wisdom, and sacrifice.
