A Message from Mr. Christopher Sullivan
Earlier today I shared with our faculty, staff, and students that over the course of this next year I will be transitioning from my position as the President of Central Catholic High School to the new role as CCHS’ Director of Marist Mission.
When the Board of Directors presented me with the privilege to serve as Central Catholic’s first lay President, I was humbled. I welcomed the opportunity and committed to serving as our school’s leader for these past nine years.
It has been my true honor to serve as Central Catholic’s President.
Now, as we celebrate our 90th year here "in the midst of Lawrence City," I am proud to share that we remain uniquely positioned to carry our mission well into the future.
Throughout this school year, we have been working diligently preparing our school’s next strategic plan, which we are excited to share this Fall. This plan is both robust and aspirational. It is based on the core values that have always made Central Catholic what it is, while ambitiously looking at programming that will allow our students to be even better "prepared for college and for life."
The CCHS Board of Directors has been planning and will begin the search process for my successor in the coming weeks. I’ve committed to serving as President until that person has been selected, and I will assist them as they move into the role.
I love Central Catholic, our students, and staff. My next position will give me the opportunity to work more directly with them each day as we further the mission of Central Catholic as a Marist school – "making Jesus known and loved."
Thank you for your constant support of our alma mater; I hope to see you back on campus soon.
Peace,
Chris Sullivan ’81
President, Central Catholic High School
A Message from the Board
As you are aware from his message earlier today, Chris Sullivan ’81 announced that he will be transitioning this year from his role as the President of Central Catholic High School to our school’s Director of Marist Mission, once a new President has been appointed.
When the Board asked Chris to accept the role of President, we agreed that he would serve in this position for up to ten years. In this time, Chris has been an unwavering, passionate leader in fulfilling our school’s mission, and the impact of his work will resonate throughout CCHS for years to come. We are indebted to Chris for serving as such an exceptional steward of Central Catholic High School, and we are deeply grateful for his unwavering dedication, leadership, and commitment to our school community.
We are grateful to our own Gisselle (Guerrero) Perez, Class of 2000 and a Member of our Board of Directors, who has agreed to lead the Search Committee for our next President. As the Regional Head of Human Resources of a multinational company, Gisselle is uniquely qualified to lead this critical search for the next President of CCHS. This national search will begin in the next few weeks.
As valued members of the CCHS community, you will have the opportunity to provide input regarding the search through a survey. Chris will continue to lead as the President of CCHS until his successor is appointed, and he will assist with the onboarding of our next leader.
Most importantly, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Sullivan for his extraordinary leadership over the past 9 years and celebrate his accomplishments.
As the first lay President of Central Catholic, Chris has worked tirelessly in support of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends all while embodying the mission of our founding by the Marist Brothers nearly 90 years ago. We are so pleased that Chris will stay on with us as he continues to work with our students in furthering the Marist Mission. As importantly, we are excited for this next chapter in our beloved School’s history under the leadership of our next President.
In Christ’s Love,
Peter Rayno '78, Chair, CCHS Board of Directors
Lynne (Pilat '86SM) Chase, Vice Chair, CCHS Board of Directors
