Thanking Our Principal, Mrs. Doreen Keller
Central Catholic's beloved Principal, Mrs. Doreen Keller '71PMA, has decided to retire at the end of the academic year. Mr. Christopher Sullivan '81, President, shared his thoughts and his gratitude to Mrs. Keller for what she has meant to the CCHS family.
A Message from Mr. Sullivan
Dear Central Catholic Families,
It is with mixed emotions that today I share that after 23 years of dedicated service to the Central Catholic community, Mrs. Doreen Keller '71PMA will retire as Principal of Central Catholic High School at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. It has been my privilege to work alongside this remarkable woman for all those years, and being her colleague has made me a better educator and a better person.
During her tenure at CCHS, Mrs. Keller served as Principal for 14 years, making her the longest serving principal in the school’s 89-year history. She is also the first female to hold this position at Central Catholic. Prior to her role as Principal, Mrs. Keller served as Assistant Principal & Associate Dean (2001 - 2007) and was promoted to Dean of Students (2007 - 2010), before being named Principal in 2010.
Mrs. Keller has helped form the lives of thousands of students and has partnered with countless parents to ensure the best possible experience for every student in our care – all while supporting Central’s mission and tradition of excellence.
She has also worked daily with our talented administration, faculty, and staff to help support numerous mission-driven initiatives inside and outside of the classroom. Through this process, she has come to consider the Central Catholic community as family – and we certainly feel the same about her.
Doreen Keller’s legacy of nurturing, student-centered care will continue, and we will most certainly celebrate her as the end of the school year approaches.
While we will commence a search process soon to determine who will fill the role of Central Catholic’s next Principal, today I ask you to join me in thanking Mrs. Keller for over two decades of selfless dedication to so many of our students and families. She is excited to work with all of you to ensure that your daughters and sons continue to grow throughout the rest of this school year.
When this academic year is complete, I know we all wish her a well-deserved retirement.
God Bless,
Christopher Sullivan ‘81
President, CCHS
Thank you, Mrs. Keller!
