Summary

The Manager of IT Services manages, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains physical computer hardware; performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a collaborative team approach for the management of all technology systems, hardware and infrastructure at Central Catholic High School.
  • Install, support and maintain physical network servers and appliances.
  • Specify and procure all hardware, software and supplies as needed for the functioning of this position.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced technology firms which service the school and develop partnerships with business, industry and other external sources.
  • Identify ways in which the information technology infrastructure can be changed to better serve the needs of the school. Evaluate and recommend solutions to address IT needs.
  • Pursue the acquisition of technology-related equipment and software through grant applications and develop partnerships with business, industry and other external sources.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards in all areas of network and infrastructure operations.
  • Plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
  • Manage and provide network and remote connectivity hardware/software support.
  • Install, design, configure and maintain system hardware and software.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.
  • Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security.
  • Monitor usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
  • Perform server and data backups.
  • Coordinates special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards in all areas of network and infrastructure operations.
  • Research, analyze, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve server or data network problems.
  • Research and recommend network and server hardware and software.
  • Recommend and specify the purchase of related products and services.
  • Keep current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.
  • Develop, maintain and implement network support and archiving procedures.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking; assist the Director of Innovation in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support.
  • Manage the telecommunications and data networks.
  • Perform scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers and providing internet and intranet user support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Innovation and Academic Technologies in accordance with school policies and practices.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science or related field.
  • 5-7 years experience in IT management.
  • Understand the appropriate uses of technology in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and DNS, DHCP, Radius, Active Directory, LDAP.
  • Competency with Windows Desktop Platform, particularly Windows 7,10,11, Mac OS and iOS.
  • Proficiency in configuration and management of firewalls such as Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Experience with Aruba or similar wireless environments.
  • Competency with data, switch and server backups.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware/software issues (i.e. Hard Drives, power supply failures, and RAID).
  • Proficiency in networking, particularly Ethernet networks and TCP/IP Protocols.
  • Proficiency in configuration and management of VOIP based phone systems such as AVAYA IP Office.
  • Microsoft MCP, MCSE, A+, CompTIA Network+, or CCT certification desired.
  • Current knowledge of available and emerging technologies is expected.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written form.
  • Ability to work after hours for occasional emergency support.
  • Ability to lift computer hardware (30 lbs.), to climb ladders and maneuver in confined places and in places close to the floor and the like, and to perform technical operations from these positions.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Compensation: Salary and Benefits
