A Raider Rendezvous in Denmark… With LEGOs

A Raider Rendezvous in Denmark… With LEGOs

Central Catholic alumnus Michael Erard '86 and his son Iver recently visited long-time LEGO designer and fellow CCHS alumnus Jamie Berard '94 at the LEGO Design Offices and Museum in Billund, Denmark.

“Jamie graciously showed us around the corporate Lego Museum in the Lego Idea House which included some of his own designs from the Architecture and Creator series,” said Michael. “My son and I enjoyed our visit with Jamie a lot!”

Both Jamie (Denmark) and Michael (Netherlands) work and live in neighboring countries, which makes for a more convenient meet up.

For over 14 years, Jamie Berard ’94 has been tapping into his vivid imagination to design for LEGO at the headquarters in Billund, Denmark. As a current LEGO Design Manager Specialist, Jamie is responsible for both Creator Expert and LEGO Architecture design teams.

Michael Erard ‘86 is an author, journalist, and linguist, who is currently working at the Institute of Data Science at Maastricht University, in Maastricht, Netherlands. Formerly a journalist-in-residence at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, he is also the co-founder with Misty McLaughlin of the Work in Place project and he is the author of Babel No More (2012).

Pictured here, Michael's son Iver poses with one of Jamie's LEGO designs of a French Restaurant.

The CCHS community loves to see Raiders getting together, especially internationally! Thanks to Jamie Berard '94 and Michael Erard '86 (and Iver) for sharing!
