CCHS Names New Head Coach for Varsity Baseball Program

CCHS Names New Head Coach for Varsity Baseball Program

Central Catholic alumnus and long-time assistant varsity baseball coach Mr. John Sexton '97 has been officially named the new Head Coach of the Varsity Baseball program at CCHS. Since 2003, Mr. Sexton has served as the assistant baseball coach under Mr. Marc Pelletier '79, who recently stepped down from the post as head coach after over 30 highly successful years leading the Raiders.

Mr. Sexton will officially begin his role as Head Coach of Baseball when the spring season commences in March 2019.

“I am incredibly thankful to the CCHS administration for the opportunity to lead this program,” said Mr. Sexton. “I have huge shoes to fill after Marc Pelletier ran such a first-class program for so many years, and I am very grateful to Marc for his mentorship and guidance. I have been working with student athletes for a long time and I am excited to get to work.”

Since 2012, Mr. Sexton also serves as the offensive coordinator for Central Catholic’s Varsity Football Team. As a student at Central Catholic, Mr. Sexton pitched and played baseball all four years and received an athletic scholarship to play for the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He has extensive experience as a player, and as a coach at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
