Commencement 2023 is Coming!

The Central Catholic Family is preparing to celebrate the Class of 2023 in a multitude of ways in the upcoming week! The Senior Awards Gala is being held on Sunday, May 21; the Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 23; SeniorFest 2023 on Wednesday, May 24; and the 85th Commencement Exercises on Thursday, May 25.

We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2023 at a variety of upcoming events, including:

  • The Class of 2023 Senior Awards Gala on Sunday, May 21
  • The Baccalaureate Mass on Tuesday, May 23
    • Preceded by the Legacy Barbecue for graduates who are the children or grandchildren of alumni
  • The Class of 2023 SeniorFest on Wednesday, May 24
  • The 85th Commencement Exercises on Thursday, May 25.

Major Awards and Presentations at Commencement

  • The Brother Florentius, FMS, Memorial Award

    • The highest award presented to a graduating senior who best exemplifies the ideals of Central Catholic High School. Named in memory of Central Catholic’s legendary and inspirational founder. The award has been presented annually since 1963.

  • The Brother Vincent Dinnean, FMS, Christian Service Award

    • Presented to the graduate who best embodies the Marist ideal of commitment to service and love for the least favored.
  • The Michael Garvey Memorial Award

    • Presented to the Outstanding Male Student-Athlete

  • The Mary I. Kilcoyne Memorial Award

    • Presented to the Outstanding Female Student-Athlete

  • The Florentian Dedication

    • Each year, the graduating class dedicates their yearbook, The Florentian, to someone who had a defining impact on their Central Catholic experience.

Membership is comprised of previous recipients of the Bro. Florentius, FMS, Memorial Award, the highest honor bestowed on a CCHS graduate.  Former recipients of the award attend the Commencement Exercises and form an honor guard to congratulate the newest recipient.

Becoming Raider Alumni

On Wednesday, April 26, seniors gathered in their college sweatshirts with one month to Commencement to be welcomed as future Raider Alumni into the CCHS Alumni Association by Mr. David Erwin (Chief Advancement Officer), and Mrs. Theresa M. (Black '00) Taft (Alumni Engagement Associate) and the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Each graduate received a Raiders for Life t-shirt and a graduate lawn sign.
