Lego Designer Jamie Berard '94 Stars in 'LEGO Masters' on FOX Network

Lego Designer Jamie Berard '94 Stars in 'LEGO Masters' on FOX Network

Professional LEGO Designer Jamie Berard '94 serves as an expert judge on the much-anticipated FOX Network show LEGO Masters, premiering on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

Hosted by well-known comedian/actor Will Arnett, LEGO Masters – dubbed “The Greatest Competition Ever Assembled” – features teams of LEGO designers competing to win incredible prizes including $100,000, title of LEGO Masters, and a trophy made out of…LEGOs of course!

Jamie Berard '94, who is a LEGO Senior Designer Manager at the LEGO headquarters in Billund, Denmark, returned to the United States for over two months to film LEGO Masters in Los Angeles, CA. He is a judge alongside Amy Corbett, who works with Jamie at LEGO in Denmark. As judges, they were responsible for providing commentary and feedback to the builders throughout the challenges, and chose the best and worst the competitors had to offer.

“When each challenge was finished, Amy and I selected the top two and bottom two teams, and then ultimately decided the winning and losing teams,” said Jamie. “At the end of the series, Amy and I chose the final winning team and awarded them with $100,000, a giant LEGO trophy and the title of LEGO Masters!”

Though LEGO Masters will be new in the U.S., Jamie has been working on various global versions of LEGO Masters for the past few years. “I helped out behind-the-scenes in the United Kingdom working with the producers concerning the competition challenges, figuring out which bricks to order for the show, and providing on-set assistance for the first season of LEGO Masters (UK),” said Jamie. LEGO Masters has already been successfully rolled out in the UK, Germany, and Australia.

“We’re super excited about the potential of this show because it is a chance to introduce a whole new group of people across the U.S. to the creative power of building with LEGO bricks,” said Jamie. “It’s also an opportunity to show adults that LEGO is for everyone…young, old, men, women, people of all backgrounds and levels of abilities. We really hope the show encourages people to play and have fun!"

While a student at Central Catholic High School (Lawrence, MA), Jamie participated in a variety of events including Campus Ministry, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track, Lazarus House Volunteer, Project Rebuild, Student Council and more. Jamie is a native of Methuen, MA.

Tune in to LEGO Masters on Wednesday, Feb. 5 (FOX) and witness one of Central Catholic’s finest share his LEGO wisdom with competing designers! Thanks to Jamie for always making our Raider Nation proud!
