Over 1200 Items Collected Through Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

Over 1200 Items Collected Through Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Central Catholic family came together once again for the Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Students collected and donated 1,200 food items for the Lazarus House Shelter and Food Pantry.

Sophomore Sydney Moda '22 took charge of the project by communicating the food drive details to the entire campus through daily announcements and flyers.

Sydney discovered her passion to serve the community during her Sophomore Service Retreat at Lazarus House through CCHS.

“After my sophomore service experience, I realized how fortunate I have been in life. When I returned to campus after the retreat, I went right to Campus Ministry and asked if I could organize a food drive!”

Items collected this year included: canned tuna or chicken, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, macaroni and cheese, canned ravioli and spaghetti, canned spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, cereal, and all sizes of diapers. All donations were collected in the Webster Family Lobby outside the CCHS Main Office from Nov. 18 through Nov. 22.

Let us remember the least favored as the holiday season approaches, both in prayer and action!
