Raiders Read Aloud to Share their Love of Books

Raiders Read Aloud to Share their Love of Books

Sophomores in Ms. Jennifer Gaudette '15's English class celebrated World Read Aloud Day by sharing their love of reading with second graders at the Henry K. Oliver Elementary School in Lawrence!

"Reading is better when we do it together!"

Students were partnered up and read picture books to small groups of second graders in four different second grade classrooms at the school.

This great event was coordinated by Ms. Gaudette and Mrs. Sarah Downs, Central Catholic's Director of Library & Information Services.

About World Read Aloud Day

For 13 years, World Read Aloud Day has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud!

The global effort, created by the non-profit LitWorld and sponsored by Scholastic, is celebrated annually in over 173 countries and is all about bringing people together through the shared connection of reading aloud in all of our communities.

Thank you to Ms. Gaudette, Mrs. Downs, and the students for sharing their love of reading with the second graders at the Oliver Elemantary School!
