Running for Coach O

Running for Coach O

Every year on the day before Thanksgiving, the Central Catholic Family comes together for the Coach Peter V. O'Sullivan '67 Memorial Alumni Race & Walk.

The race is followed by a post-race pizza party in Baroni Hall.

Thank you to everyone who came out on November 23, 2022 for this great event.

All proceeds benefit the Peter V. O'Sullivan '67 Memorial Fund, which was started in loving memory of Coach and Teacher Peter O'Sullivan '67 and has surpassed $100,000 in value.

The Scholarship Recipient(s) are announced at the race each year.

The Race

On November 23, over 100 people came together for the 17th Annual Race in honor of the longtime faculty member and coach!

The race is held each year at Lawrence Reservoir at Tower Hill.

The Party

Following the race, "Pete's Party" attendees are invited back to Baroni Hall for a post-race pizza party.

The Scholarship

The Peter V. O’Sullivan '67 Memorial Scholarship Fund

Each year, a scholarship is given to a Central Catholic student who embodies the ideals of Peter V. O'Sullivan '67. The recipient is a Raider who participates in the cross country, indoor track, outdoor track programs or any combination of the three and who demonstrates leadership, hard-work, dedication and passion for the sport.

As was important to Coach O, this deserving candidate must display integrity, moral character, perseverance, dedication to the sport, belief in oneself, and who strives for his/her personal best in and outside of the classroom and acts as a positive role model for others.

Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients!
