Student Alumni Association Named “Outstanding Emerging Organization”

Members of Central Catholic's Student Alumni Association (SAA) were recently honored with the “District 1 Outstanding Emerging Organization” of the year by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). A group representing SAA recently traveled to the University of Connecticut campus for a weekend-long conference hosted by CASE.

The award - which recognizes achievements and ongoing efforts to advance education and Central Catholic - was presented by the CASE ASAP program which “celebrates extraordinary dedication to student advancement in higher education.” The SAA group is now eligible for a national award later this summer at a conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

About the Student Alumni Association

The purpose of the S.A.A. is to encourage current students to actively participate in the Alumni Association while they are students. S.A.A. strives to build meaningful relationships between students and alumni, utilize mentorships, alumni networks, and fundraising efforts to ensure a bright future for our community. The S.A.A. works to instill a feeling of tradition in past and present Raiders and creates a sense of home that lasts beyond graduation.

Students who participate in the S.A.A. also have the opportunity to meet and network with alumni through volunteer opportunities during the year, including:

  • Homecoming/Reunion Weekend
  • Alumni Golf Classic
  • Peter O’Sullivan ’67 Road Race
  • Yearbook Signing and Six Month Reunion
  • Alumni Networking Events
  • Other Special Events Sponsored by the IA Office

Congratulations to our Student Alumni Association for being recognized! Keep up the good work!
