"These college admission representatives are seasoned experts on what constitutes an impactful college essay, and our seniors are on the receiving end of that valuable knowledge," said Mr. Kevin McCarthy, Director of School & College Counseling at Central Catholic.

"The timing of this event is perfect for students to take the feedback, adjust their essay accordingly and submit to colleges and universities for early application deadlines."

The conversational discussions went beyond grammatical, touching upon topic selection and how the student can incorporate improvements to make the essay more compelling - turning a 2D essay into a 3D submission.
Senior Megan Linzer '23 met with the Admissions Representative from Boston College, who walked her through some ways to optimize her essay.
"He was very kind and took a lot of time reading through my essay and gave me specific feedback," said Megan. "I learned how to make an engaging hook to make sure my readers will be interested in my essay and have it stand out. I know that my essay needs to be personal, professional, and interesting, and the Admissions Representative gave me not only validation, but the feedback that I needed to feel confident submitting my applications."
The Write Stuff is just one of many programs Central Catholic offers seniors to ensure that they are prepared for the college application process.
